A note from Don: Over 3 1/2 years ago I bought a donor bike and a custom built frame to start on my first build.
The frame cam from the good people at Cycle One Manufacturing. Their service & support were essential in my project
and I am glad to call them my friends. I must have looked at a hundred different gas tanks, fenders and oil tanks o find
the combination that looked the best, and the seat was even harder to figure out, lol. Now I have a frame and a
large amount of parts, new and used nearly 3 years later and countless calls for help and parts to Cycle One Manufacturing
and I had an assembled bike! I rode it for over 300 miles over the next few months to ensure it was functional and then
it was tme for the tear down to make it beautiful! Much to the dismay of some people who liked it as a ratrod. After
a lot of thought and then a whole lot more thought, I finally picked a color from a 2014 corvette called unripped green.
My friend and painter Brian Saine of Saines Bodyshop (Gravette, AR) found the color for me and it didn't take long to
agree that it was perfect. After a few more calls for parts and ideas to Cycle One, and after the powder coating was
done I started reassembly. After I painted my engine and carbs, I wore down my buffing wheel to shine some parts and
spent hours tucking in all my wiring. I was nearly ready to start the bike. All my painted stuff was carefully
installed and polished, surprise oil leaks were fixed and the exhaust was painted, now its time to ride!!! The test
ride went great and it was a lot of fun to ride. There isn't a much better feeling that to ride a bike that you built
yourself. It was a lot of fun to build and to ride and I would like to thank Red and Kate at Cycle One for
all their help, Blaine Saine at Saines Autobody Shop in Gravette, Arkansas for painting the bike, and
my Dad for his generous donation to help me make it look the way it does.
